Channel 4 launches new Uber-themed series

Channel 4 has launched a new six-episode series that follows some of Britain’s top Uber drivers.
‘Where to, Britain?’ – which will consist of five-minute episodes filmed in different cities – will follow a number of drivers who use the Uber app to pick up and drop off passengers across the country.
Chris Faith, the director of the show, explained:
"’Where to, Britain?’ has been a brilliant project to work on. Developing and producing this entertaining snapshot of a diverse Britain in transit – as seen through the eyes of the drivers and passengers, has made for a fantastic working partnership with Gravity Road, Uber and Channel 4.
"What’s been most exciting for us as a producer, is that we’ve been able to combine our extensive experience in making entertaining television – with our current work in the advertising and branded arena."
The show – which has been launched on Channel 4’s on-demand service All 4 today (29.05.18) – will be narrated by actress Dawn French.
The programme will also feature cameo appearances from a number of Manchester United footballers, including Juan Mata, Marcus Rashford and Axel Tuanzebe.
Stephanie Cunningham, an Uber driver who stars in one of the episodes, revealed she loved letting the cameras into her everyday life.
She said: "I think a lot of people know what it’s like to be a rider on an Uber trip, but don’t know what it’s like to be behind the wheel. It’s really cool that this series highlights both for the first time."
