Corrie’s Carla and Alya will be pushed to ‘breaking point’

Coronation Street’s Carla Connor and Alya Nazir will be pushed to "breaking point" in their battle over the factory.
Sair Khan – who plays Alya – has teased fans to expect the pair to continue to clash over the running of Underworld following the death of owner Aidan Connor (Shayne Ward), and her alter-ego will be left in "complete disbelief" when she discovers he left the factory to her in his will.
When asked if Alya is at breaking point following yet another bust up with Carla, she said: "Carla and Alya both are, they are both grieving.
"Alya has been at the brink of breaking point so many times and she is trying to keep it together but they have pulled each other a little bit too far this time.
"It’s complete disbelief and shock [being left the factory], but actually, when she thinks about it, it does make sense because Aidan knew how much Alya believes in the factory.
"Money-aside, talking about dreams, ambitions and hopes for the future, they shared the same vision so in that respect it does make sense for Aidan to give Alya the factory to carry that legacy on for him."
While Carla – played by Alison King – is used to getting her own way, Sair insists she has "met her match" will Alya.
Speaking about working with the former ‘Dream Team’ star, the 30-year-old actress said: "She’s great and it’s really interesting to explore this new-found relationship because when Alya first started she was young, naive and didn’t know the business world very well … but now Carla Connor has met her match."
The former ‘Doctors’ actress loves filming "comedy scenes" in the factory alongside the Underworld employees.
She said: "They are always really good fun to film because there is quite a few of us filming and it’s usually always comedy scenes so most of the time you are just laughing."
