Portia de Rossi has quit acting.
The ‘Arrested Development’ star has decided to take a step back from her acting and wants to work on something "challenging and different" now.
Her wife Ellen DeGeneres said: "You aren’t a big fan of doing press and talk shows, so thank you for being here. She really doesn’t. That’s why she actually quit acting. She decided you didn’t want to do anything more with acting and got off of ‘Scandal.’"
Whilst Portia added during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show: "I was approaching 45 and I was just wondering was there something that I could tackle now that I’ve never done before that would be very challenging and different. I kind of knew what acting would look like for me for the next 10, 20 years, so I decided to quit and start a business."
Portia now has her own art curation and publication company called General Public.
Meanwhile, Portia previously confessed that her wife Ellen is a bigger hit with their fans.
She quipped: "When I’m out with Ellen, fans come up to us and say, ‘Oh, my God, Ellen, you’re an angel.’ And then they look at me and go, ‘And you’re horrible!’ It’s funny."
Portia and Ellen have been married since 2008 and she says the secret to their happy relationship is that they are "best friends" too.
She said: "We’re just really good friends and we talk about everything, and we never ever, ever lie to each other, like, not even the tiniest lies. And she’s the only person I want to hang out with. Like, she is my best friend and I just want to be with her all the time. She’s just so awesome! Who wouldn’t want to be with Ellen all the time?"
