Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden’s BGT caravan

Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden will have to share a caravan in a church yard while filming the ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ live shows.
The ‘BGT’ judges will be shacking up together in the temporary abode when they shoot the live episodes at London’s Hammersmith Apollo, but their fellow panellist Simon Cowell – who arranged for the eps to be filmed at the venue – "conveniently" lives down the road.
Speaking at the Virgin TV British Academy Television Awards at London’s Royal Festival Hall on Sunday (13.05.18), Amanda told BANG Showbiz: "When we do the live shows from the theatre, he didn’t think it through. There are 500 people that make this show happen and we’ve got to find spaces for them every day.
"Me and Alesha, I’m not even joking, are living in a caravan in a church yard round the back. Under the Hammersmith flyover.
"Simon lives down the road … he’s made it very convenient for him!"
Amanda was celebrating at last night’s ceremony as ‘BGT’ scooped the Entertainment Programme accolade, and the 47-year-old TV presenter joked the panellists don’t count their previous TV BAFTA win in 2009 because Piers Morgan was part of the panel.
She said: "The last time we won this was 2009 but Piers was a judge then so I said there was no competition really."
Amanda quipped: "It was a bad year. We don’t include that one."
Simon previously joked he was "thrilled" ‘BGT’ bosses agreed to hold the live shows in a theatre following his suggestion.
He said: "It has to be in a theatre and I’ll tell you why. We go into a studio and make it look like a theatre, it’s like buying a Mini and trying to make it look like a Rolls Royce. There’s something about the theatre element.
"So whenever we do the live shows in a studio, something, that gloss, glow, whatever you want to call it, is missing for me. So I’m thrilled because this year I have got my own way … again."
