Sally Dynevor ‘sad’ about Kate Oates departure

Sally Dynevor is "very sad" about Kate Oates’ ‘Coronation Street’ departure.
The 54-year-old actress, who has played Sally Webster in the ITV soap since 1986, has heaped praise on the show’s departing producer – who has quit the programme to move into drama production in June, after joining in early 2016 – insisting she has "done very well" during her stint on the cobbles.
She said: "We’ve got a new boss. It’s always very sad to see somebody go. Kate Oates has done very well on the show. We wish her the best."
‘Emmerdale’ producer Iain MacLeod will depart the Dales in June to replace Kate, and Sally cannot wait to see what he has in store for ‘Corrie’.
She added: "We’re looking forward to working with Iain MacLeod in June. It’s all changes, as usual on ‘Corrie’. It’s all very exciting."
But Kate isn’t the only person Sally is going to miss on the cobbles because her on-screen daughter Helen Flanagan – who plays Rosie Webster – will shoot her final scene on Friday (27.04.18) before going on maternity leave.
Sally said: "I’ll miss her so much, she’s such a treasure. We cried so much the other day. She’s still got one scene to do on Friday, but I’m going to miss her.
"She’s just a little sweetie."
While Sally will miss spending time with Helen, she is excited about having a new storyline to get her teeth into, but has teased fans everything is set to "go wrong" for her Weatherfield veteran alter-ego.
Speaking on ‘Lorraine’, she added: "I’ve got a new story, it’s so exciting. I only started it last week, so it’s just bubbling along.
"Sally does a very good deed, which turns out to not turn out so well for her. Everything goes wrong.
"It’s a story and I’m so excited to be doing it. I can’t wait for you all to see it."
