Gleb Savchenko wants Strictly judging job

Gleb Savchenko wants to judge ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 34-year-old professional dancer was a fan favourite when he worked on the show, but now he’s happily settled in the US with wife Elena, where he competes on ‘Dancing With the Stars’, but he admits there is a job that could tempt him back to the UK.
He said: "It was hard for me and my family to settle in the UK, with getting visas and my daughter starting school.
"I love to visit – it’s a great country and I’ve got friends here.
"You never know, some day they might ask me to judge ‘Strictly’. I’d love to do that."
Last year saw Len Goodman leave his role as head judge on ‘Strictly’ and Gleb is a big fan of his replacement, Shirley Ballas.
He said: "She’s a great judge. I’ve known her for a long time and I’m good friends with her son.
"I wouldn’t say she’s a great replacement because Len is a good character and no one can replace him.
"We’ve got him now in America and we’re very, very happy."
But though Gleb is keen to judge ‘Strictly’, he thinks the show is in desperate need of a shake-up.
He told star magazine: "[‘DWTS’] is the same type of show – we’ve got judges, dancers and celebrities – but it’s very different at the same time.
"’Dancing With the Stars’ is very exciting whereas ‘Strictly’ is more conservative and hasn’t changed since day one.
"’Dancing With the Stars’ changes all the time. There’s no limit for what you want to create. It’s super fun.
"I would make [‘Strictly’] more commercial. There’s no time for them to create sets and stuff but I would make it more fun."
