Paul Hollywood’s young lover isn’t "bothered" about their 30-year age gap.
The ‘Great British Bake Off’ judge has been dating Summer Monteys-Fullam since last year and, although their three-decade age gap has raised eyebrows, the 22-year-old brunette has defended their relationship and insists she’s "happy" with the chef.
Speaking to the MailOnline, she said: "Last November I was emotionally drained – but now I’m loving life. I’m fine and I’m enjoying life. I’m not upset… I’m happy. Why should it the age gap bother me? There are many other people in the world with age gaps, and marriages and kids and everything else and I’m fine."
Summer grew close to the 52-year-old silver fox after his marriage with his wife Alexandra – with whom he has 17-year-old son Josh – began to crumble last year, but she’s adamant she had nothing to do with them going their separate ways.
She said: "I came [into a relationship with Paul] way after his marriage ended."
And it looks like things are pretty serious between the pair as Paul arranged for Summer to fly out to America, where he was working, earlier this month, before he whisked her off for a romantic trip in Mauritius.
An onlooker said at the time: "They looked extremely happy together.
"Despite the age gap there was a lot of laughter and staring into each other’s eyes — plus lots of tactile nudges and touches. The hotel is very romantic. It’s not the kind of place you would take just a friend. He must be very keen on Summer.
"Despite looking more like father and daughter, when they did stroll around together they left people in no doubt that they were a couple. Summer has clearly put a smile on his face after a difficult time in his personal life."
