Alan Halsall gets Andy Whyment hooked on hot yoga

Alan Halsall has got his ‘Coronation Street’ co-star Andy Whyment hooked on hot yoga.
The 35-year-old actor – who plays mucky mechanic Tyrone Dobbs in the soap – managed to convince his 37-year-old cobbles pal (Kirk Sutherland) to try out the spiritual practice, and while Andy was sure he would "hate" the experience, he cannot wait to return for another session.
Andy wrote on Instagram: "@alanhalsall got me to Yoga today hot Yoga, by the time we’d finished it was like I’d been swimming with my top on, he thought I’d hate it as did I but it was ace going again Thursday (sic)"
Alan replied on his social media site: "Well done mate @andywhyment81 proud of ya (sic)"
While Andy had a great time getting sweaty in a studio, he is hoping to become more "flexible" as he attends further sessions, and he soon realised why Alan was so keen for him to go along.
He wrote: "I was sweating my balls off but really did enjoy it, I realised I’m not very flexible but I know the more I go the easier it’ll get well I hope
"enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would I can see why Alan has got the bug, (sic)"
But Alan and Andy aren’t the only soap stars who are big fans of yoga.
Their fellow cobbles dweller Tina O’Brien – who plays Sarah Platt in ‘Corrie’ – admits to being a "yoga lover" on her Twitter profile, and former ‘Hollyoaks’ star Gemma Merna went on to become a yoga teacher after leaving the Channel 4 soap.
Speaking in 2016, she said: "I always wanted to train as a yoga teacher, but when you’re in Hollyoaks, you can’t really get any holidays. When I did, I wanted to be with my family and go away with my husband."
