Dale Winton has died

Dale Winton has died.
The television presenting legend, who was famed for his work on the likes of ‘Dale’s Supermarket Sweep’ and the ‘National Lottery’, passed away on Wednesday (18.04.18) at the age of 62, his long-term agent Jan Kennedy has confirmed.
Jan said in a short statement: "It is with great sadness that we can confirm the passing of Dale Winton who died at home earlier today.
"While we know many will share this terrible loss, we ask that you respect the family’s privacy at this time of grief."
As of the time of writing, no further details are known.
Dale rose to prominence for his role hosting game show ‘Dale’s Supermarket Sweep’ from 1993 to 2000 – and again for one series in 2007 – which saw three teams of two compete against the clock to win big prizes.
Teams would answer questions and riddles posed to them by Dale with each answer adding time to their clocks, which were used during the ‘Big Sweep’ at the end of the show, in which teams would be tasked with racing around a fake supermarket to collect important items.
Dale began presenting the ‘National Lottery’ in 2002, before also going on to host BBC One’s game show ‘Hole In The Wall’ for one series in 2008, and a one-off ITV game show entitled ‘Dale’s Great Getaway’ which aired in 2012.
In February this year, Dale appeared on screens again, this time hosting the travelogue series ‘Dale Winton’s Florida Fly Drive’ on Channel 5.
Since news of his passing, several stars have taken to social media to pay their respects.
Davina McCall tweeted: "I am so so so sad to hear about Dale Winton a lovely, warm, kind, sensitive, generous soul with a touch of naughty ! RIP (sic)"
Whilst Rylan Clark-Neal added: "So so sad and shocked about the lovely Dale Winton. God bless (sic)"
Blur guitarist Graham Coxon also took to Twitter, writing: "What a shame about Dale Winton! I sang a Bert Jansch song while sitting next to him on a radio show once. He struck me as being a really lovely man. Bye, Dale and thank you for your encouraging words. X (sic)"
