Paul Danan playing his A-game in Worth a Flutter

Paul Danan feels like a tennis player who needs to "play better" while appearing alongside Adele Silva and Lucy Pinder in a new theatre production.
The former ‘Hollyoaks’ actor is to act opposite the ex-‘Emmerdale’ actress and the ‘Strippers vs Werewolves’ star in Michael Head’s play ‘Worth a Flutter’, and Paul is determined to put in a stellar performance to ensure the show wins awards.
He exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "They’re really down-to-earth girls. They’re really professional and you can see the standard is going to be quite high so it’s great.
"It’s like playing tennis with someone who is better than me and I have to play better.
"I’m not saying they’re better than me, I’m just saying because they’re bringing their A-game it’s lifting me to bring the same.
"It’s serious stuff – we all want a BAFTA or whatever you get."
While Paul – who previously played the Monster in theatre production ‘Desires of Frankenstein’ – is focused on tasting success in the hard-hitting and comic project, he feels "a bit apprehensive" about treading the boards again.
He added: "With films and TV you can go again, you can do a take two but with this you can’t so it’s a little bit daunting.
"I’m a bit apprehensive about it all, but once it’s memorised I can really play with it.
"If I wasn’t nervous there would be something wrong."
The hard-hitting play features broken marriages, loss, domestic violence and a dysfunctional member as it follows Sam and Matt as they compete for Helen’s affections.
‘Worth a Flutter’ takes place on Tuesdays to Saturdays from May 1-19 at London’s The Hope Theatre.
