Gemma Atkinson and Gethin Jones to host new radio station

Gemma Atkinson and Gethin Jones are set to host a new national radio station.
The former ‘Emmerdale’ star has joined forces with the 40-year-old television presenter and David Lloyd Vitty – also known as Comedy Dave – to front Hits Radio, the only national commercial radio station to broadcast from Manchester, from June.
Gemma, 33, said: "I can’t wait to get on air with Gethin and Dave and get all our listeners starting the day with a smile and great music.
"I am beyond excited about a national commercial station in my hometown of Manchester – not long until the listeners can join us having a laugh in the morning."
Gethin, 40, added: "I’m just really excited to get started. We’ve been working on some great ideas, and every time I see Gemma and Dave, it usually ends up in a lot of laughs! If that’s how you like to start your day, make sure you tune in!"
While Gemma, Gethin and Dave will host the breakfast show, drivetime will be fronted by Wes Butters and the evening show will be led by Sarah-Jane Crawford.
Sarah-Jane said: "So thrilled and excited to joining Bauer’s brand new national radio station and to be back in conversation with the nation. With celebrity guests and music, I’ll be pulling out the SJC bants at every given opportunity. Bring it on."
Hits Radio, which is aimed at a family-focused national audience aged 25-44, will feature a soundtrack of the biggest hits of the day alongside treasured favourites, featuring artists Dua Lipa, Ed Sheeran, Little Mix, Ellie Goulding, Rag N Bone Man, P!nk, Craig David, Sam Smith, Ariana Grande, Coldplay and Katy Perry.
Hits Radio will go live for the first time on June 4 and will broadcast on DAB Digital Radio, Freeview, online and on listen apps across the UK.
