Lorraine Stanley was "praying" she didn’t appear in any ‘EastEnders’ scenes in last night’s (17.04.18) episode – because she was sat in A&E with a nail infection watching the show.
The 41-year-old actress – who plays loud-mouth laundrette worker Karen Taylor in the BBC One soap – headed to an accident and emergency department after being left in pain from biting her nails, and while she was waiting in A&E the show appeared on TV, leaving her in a potentially "awkward" situation.
She wrote on Twitter: "Sat in A n E in the waiting room,Eastenders is on the tv,I’m praying I’m not in any scenes #awkward #eastenders
"Nail infection…note to self…do not bite your nails!!! #t**t (sic)"
Lorraine was inundated with support from ‘EastEnders’ stars past and present, including Kierston Wareing, who recalled an occasion when her dog sitters turned up at her house when her character Kirsty Branning was on screen.
She tweeted: "I Remember that happened to me with the new dog sitters rang on the doorbell to meet them all they were all sitting down watching it and it happened to my scene at the time with max (jake) @loustar76 #oh hello (sic)"
Despite dashing to A&E, Lorraine confirmed to ‘EastEnders’ newcomer Ricky Champ – who has joined the soap as Stuart Highway, the older brother of Callum ‘Halfway’ Highway (Tony Clay) – she was "all good".
Ricky tweeted: "Oh Lou. Hope it’s ok darling. See you bright and breezy on the morra x (sic)"
Lorraine replied: "Will do! All good thanks just sore see you tomorrow xx (sic)"
