Coronation Street’s Michelle Keegan is having a "chav" themed leaving party.
The brunette beauty, who plays Tina McIntyre in the popular soap, is set to leave next month when her character is killed off and she’s reportedly planned a fancy dress party for 100 members of cast and crew where she will say her farewells.
The 26-year-old actress has chosen the theme of "chav", a word which is often used to describe people involved in anti-social behaviour, and Manchester, the city in which the ITV soap is based.
Although some have criticised the choice, as the word "chav" has negative connotations, it’s all said to be in good fun.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Tina is chavvy. It’s all in good humour and a celebration of her character.
"It is a wake for Tina but also a leaving party as Michelle is moving away from Manchester."
Michelle, whose character has been having an affair with married man Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne), has decided to leave ‘Coronation Street’ as she’s set to marry her former ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ star fiancé Mark Wright and move closer to his family in Essex.
