Laverne Cox has revealed she is "in love" with her mystery boyfriend, whom she met on Tinder eight months ago.
The ‘Orange Is The New Black’ actress has admitted she was an avid user of the dating app when she split from her previous partner, and before long she met her new man – whose identity remains a secret – and fell in love.
She said: "Honestly, I’m a Tinder girl. When I broke up with my ex, I went back on Tinder, because I feel like if you want to date, you have to be on the apps. You have to be on the apps to be in the game.
"[Me and my new partner have been together] almost eight months. It’s amazing. I’m in love. It’s incredible, it really is. It’s like love is so incredibly healing. I’m just so happy. When you’re happy, you kind of want to like – love is life-saving."
Laverne, 45, knew her new beau was the one for her when she turned up to their first date in casual dress, and didn’t feel pressured to look her best around him.
She added: "I was like, ‘I’m not going to put all this effort in’. If I was coming from an event and I already had makeup on, great. But I’m not putting effort into a guy that I don’t know yet. You might not look like your pictures, you might smell.
"My current boyfriend, I showed up on the date with no makeup, had some jean shorts and it worked out."
The ‘Doubt’ actress is happy with her mystery man, whom she claims gets on well with her family.
Speaking during an appearance on US television show ‘Access’ on Wednesday (07.03.18), she said: "Everybody gets along. His family’s amazing. My mom likes him. It’s good."
