Three Girls leads RTS Programme Award nominations

BBC One drama ‘Three Girls’ has received three RTS Programme Award nominations.
The TV drama series – which was penned by Nicole Taylor, and directed by Philippa Lowthorpe – has been nominated for the Breakthrough Award (Molly Windsor), the Writer – Drama category (Nicole) and the Mini-Series gong.
The Breakthrough Award will see Molly compete with Daisy May Cooper and Charlie Cooper for ‘This Country’ and Daniel Lawrence Taylor for ‘Timewasters’ to claim the coveted gong.
Elsewhere, Nicole faces competition from Charlie Covell for ‘The End of the F***ing World’ and Jeff Pope for ‘Little Boy Blue’ for the Writer – Drama prize.
Meanwhile, ‘The State’ and ‘Born To Kill’ are also up for the Mini-Series award.
‘Little Boy Blue’ has also been handed nominations for two of its lead actors, Sinéad Keenan – who is up for the the Actor (Female) gong – and Stephen Graham, who is competing for the Actor (Male) prize.
Other nominees include ‘Ackley Bridge’, ‘The End of the F***ing World’ and ‘The Crown’ for the Drama Series award, while ‘Damilola’, ‘Our Loved Boy’, ‘Murdered for Being Different’ and ‘King Charles III’ in the Single Drama category.
It’s been announced, too, that the Soap and Continuing Drama award will be contested by ‘Coronation Street’, ‘EastEnders’ and ‘Holby City’, while ‘Hospital’, ‘Catching A Killer’ and ‘The Detectives: Murder on the Streets’ are competing for the Documentary Series prize.
The awards ceremony is to be hosted by TV veteran Vernon Kay, and will be staged on March 20 at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London.
