Ed Sheeran won’t perform at own wedding

Ed Sheeran thinks it would be a "little bit weird" to perform at his own wedding.
The ‘Shape Of You’ hitmaker’s songs are very popular among newlyweds because of the heartfelt lyrics and his soothing vocals, but he’s adamant he won’t be playing any of his tracks when he ties the knot with his childhood sweetheart Cherry Seaborn this year.
Speaking on Australia’s ‘The Kyle and Jackie O Show’, Ed – who is currently Down Under on tour – said when asked if he’d play his songs at his wedding: "It would be a little bit weird."
The 27-year-old singer sparked rumours him and Cherry – who got engaged last year – had already got hitched after he was spotted wearing a plain silver band on his ring finger.
He explained: "We didn’t get secretly married, no, she made me this ring out of silver clay, so we were both kinda wearing rings."
And the flame-haired hunk hopes the ring will throw people off scent so that no one – except their guests – will know when they officially became husband and wife.
He added: "It also means that nobody will know when we have got married."
Ed is refusing to give anything away about his big day but it’s thought the couple could exchange vows at his home in Suffolk as he has asked to have a chapel installed.
A source said recently: "Even though Ed is one of the world’s biggest stars he does like to do things privately, like his engagement.
"Having his wedding on his own land would mean they could celebrate their big day with just their nearest and dearest and then head back to the main house of a big party after."
It’s expected that East Suffolk Council will make a decision on the chapel in April, which could mean Ed and Cherry can tie the knot there this summer, if they wanted.
