Candice Brown’s fiance has asked Matt Evers to be usher

Candice Brown’s fiance has asked her skating partner Matt Evers to be an usher.
The ‘Great British Bake Off’ winner struck up a close bond with the professional skater after they were partnered together for ‘Dancing on Ice’ earlier this year and, although they were the first to get the boot from the competition, they’ve remained good friends and her soon-to-be husband Liam Macaulay wants him to be involved in their wedding.
Speaking to Star magazine, Matt said: "Candice is amazing. She has such a gentle soul, she’s still skating. Candice’s fiance Liam invited me to their wedding and I’ll be one of their ushers and I’m going to Candice’s hen party too."
The show has seen the likes of Vicky Ogden and Sam Attwater – who were previously partnered together for the show – get married but it doesn’t have the same reputation as ‘Strictly Come Dancing’, which has seemingly been given a "curse."
He said: "Because this is that much more dangerous, when we’re close, we’re 10 times closer than those on ‘Strictly…’ We’ve had some connections and marriages from this show like Vicky Ogden and Sam Attwater. Ice skating is just pure love.
Meanwhile, Matt is desperate to get Holly Willoughby – who hosts the programme alongside Phil Schofield – on the ice before the show wraps up this month.
He said: "Phil has been on the ice, but Holly hasn’t. She was always like: ‘No, no, no.’ But I mentioned it a couple of weeks back and she said: ‘Definitely, let’s give it a go."
