Piers Morgan expects guests to cry on Life Stories

Piers Morgan expects his guests to cry on ‘Life Stories’.
The 52-year-old presenter has sat and watched many stars shed tears on his TV chat show, including Simon Cowell, Dannii Minogue Cheryl and Geri Horner, as he quizzes them about their careers and lives.
Piers insists he doesn’t set out to upset his guests with his questions but believes it would be "very unusual" if they didn’t get emotional when opening up on "dark moments" from their past.
Speaking on ITV daytime show ‘Loose Women’, he said: "I don’t set out to make people cry. It’s about people’s lives so it depends on what’s happened in people’s lives. To me it would be very unusual if you’re talking to a parent about the loss of a child [for instance] if they didn’t cry, it really depends on what’s happened to the guests. ‘Life Stories’ is show where I say to the guests only do it if you’re ready to talk about everything and then to me if they’ve had really dark moments in their lives as well as great triumphs it would actually be inhuman if they didn’t show emotion … Not everybody cries."
‘Good Morning Britain’ host Piers also gave some insight into his interviewing technique before he sits down with his subject, revealing he tries to avoid speaking to the stars before the cameras start rolling on his tell-all TV conversations.
He spilled: "I prefer not to have an interview with them before, I prefer not to even say hello to them. I like to just get out there, let the lights go down, there’s a big audience but then very quickly it becomes just me and them. Some of the recordings are three-and-a-half hours without a break. We filmed with Pamela [Anderson] for two hours."
