24 to simulcast in UK and US

’24: Live Another Day’ will simulcast on Sky 1 at the same time as it airs in America.

The award-winning drama, which stars Kiefer Sutherland as counter-terrorist agent Jack Bauer, will return to screens next month and viewers in the UK can watch Jack’s TV comeback – four years after the last season concluded – at exactly the same time as fans in the US.

The first two episodes will air on Sky 1 in the early hours of Tuesday, May 6, at 1am, following in the footsteps of Sky Atlantic’s simulcast of the ‘Game of Thrones’ season four premiere.

’24’ will then settle into its regular time slot of Wednesdays at 9pm, with the double-bill premiere airing once again on Wednesday, May 7.

Sky 1 director Adam MacDonald said: "I’m delighted that Jack and the team at ’24’ are returning exclusively to Sky 1 HD. The scale, ambition and fast-paced energy of the series epitomize everything we look for in a drama for the channel. I can’t wait to bring it back to our customers."

’24’ originally aired for eight seasons between 2001 and 2010 and was revived by US channel FOX last year for a brand new season consisting of 12 episodes.

Filming took place largely in London with Jack once again being joined by his trusty sidekick Chloe O’Brian (Mary Lynn Rajskub).

The new season will also star Benjamin Bratt, ‘Dexter’ actress Yvonne Strahovski and Stephen Fry as the British Prime Minister.
