Kesha having surgery on torn ligament

Kesha is undergoing surgery to repair a torn ligament in her knee – and she’s had to postpone some show dates to give her time to recover.
The 31-year-old singer recently tore her anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) after she fell on stage during a performance in Dubai on February 9, and has revealed she is going under the knife to patch up the injury on Tuesday (20.02.18).
But the time needed to recover from her procedure means she has had to postpone her upcoming tour dates in Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan and Japan, whilst her Byron Bay Bluesfest performance has been cancelled all together.
In a note posted as a picture on Instagram, she said: "I’m heartbroken to be writing this right now. I am being forced to postpone some of my upcoming international dates due to a recent injury I sustained while performing. It’s my biggest joy in life to share my music with my fans all over the world, but I have to follow my doctors orders and undergo surgery to repair my torn ACL so I can get ready to give it all on my Summer tour and beyond."
The picture’s caption reiterated the message, but also stated the ‘Praying’ hitmaker was "sick with sadness" at the thought of moving her upcoming dates.
She continued: "Moving these dates is making me sick with sadness, but I tried to will this injury away and unfortunately it didn’t work. I love you all and I’ll work every single day as hard as I can to recover and get back on stage as soon as possible. I’m so sorry and sending love always."
Kesha was due to perform in the postponed countries throughout March and April, and at the time of writing, it is not known when the shows will take place instead.
The postponed shows are not thought to affect her ‘The Adventures of Kesha and Macklemore’ tour in North America, which is set to kick off on June 6 in Arizona.
