Emily Blunt’s pregnancy was "the coolest thing that’s ever happened" to her.
The British actress, who welcomed her first child, Hazel, with husband John Krasinski into the world in February, took a "non-fuss, non-intense" approach to preparing for parenthood and embraced the opportunity to indulge on gluten-free cookies.
The ‘Devil Wears Prada’ star, 31, told the April issue of Vogue magazine, shortly before giving birth: "It’s really the coolest thing that’s ever happened to me. I feel good, although I do wake up feeling like my grandmother."
She added: "I sleep with a fortress of pillows around me. I’ve got one of those huge C-shaped ones. My husband calls it Gary."
Asked about her craving for cookies, she said: "I know everyone rolls their eyes, but I met a hippie doctor who suggested it, and it’s really helped me in the pregnancy."
Emily also decided not to read anything about delivering her daughter before the birth in Los Angeles.
She explained: "Everyone says don’t go online and read as few books as you possibly can."
The brunette beauty and John, 34, announced their baby’s birth via Twitter almost two months ago.
The proud new dad tweeted: "Wanted to let the news out directly. Emily and I are so incredibly happy to welcome our daughter Hazel into the world today! Happy bday! (sic)"
