Kesha ‘proud’ to perform at Grammys

Kesha is "proud and overwhelmed" to be performing at the Grammy Awards on Sunday (28.01.18).
The 31-year-old singer is set to take to the stage at the annual awards ceremony this weekend to perform her hit single ‘Praying’, and she has revealed that although she is "nervous" about playing at the prestigious event, she can’t wait to get up on stage.
Kesha – who wrote the track amidst her legal battle with producer Dr. Luke, whom she has accused of sexually abusing her – wrote on Twitter: "when i wrote praying, with ben abraham and ryan lewis, i just felt as if i had gotten a huge weight off of my shoulders. it felt like an emotional raw victory for myself, one step closer to healing. I never could have known what would’ve happened these past few years.
"i just want to say that i needed this song in a very real way, im so proud and nervous and overwhelmed to be performing it at the grammys on sunday, and if you need it i hope this song finds you. (sic)"
In addition to performing at the ceremony – which is set to be held in New York for the first time in 15 years, rather than in California – Kesha is also nominated for Best Pop Solo Performance for ‘Praying’, and Best Pop Vocal Album for ‘Rainbow’.
Meanwhile, during an interview in August, Kesha revealed that writing her new album ‘Rainbow’ "saved her life".
She said: "This record has quite literally saved my life. ‘Praying’ was really important because it talks about me personally going through something very hard – lots of very hard things – making it through, not giving up, and finding empathy on the other side, which is incredibly hard sometimes."
