Adrian Edmondson and Nigel Planer reunite for BBC sitcom

Adrian Edmondson is to reunite with his former ‘Young Ones’ co-star Nigel Planer for the BBC comedy ‘Upstart Crow’.
The 61-year-old actor and Nigel, 64, previously starred opposite one another in the iconic sitcom – which also featured Rik Mayall and Christopher Ryan – and they’re now poised to reunite on the set of the comedy programme, which is about William Shakespeare.
The show sees David Mitchell – who is, perhaps, best known for his appearances in ‘Peep Show’ – star as the British icon.
Adrian will play the part of a policeman named Dogberry, while Nigel takes on the role of Lord Egeus, a wealthy gentleman.
The new series of the sitcom will also feature appearances from Lily Cole and Sir Kenneth Branagh, both whom are slated to star in the Christmas special, according to the Daily Star newspaper.
Looking forward to the new series, writer Ben Elton shared: "The third series is truly going to be a star-crossed show."
Meanwhile, Adrian recently admitted that his on-set experiences with Rik were some of the most enjoyable times of his life.
The popular comedy duo starred in ‘The Young Ones’ and ‘Bottom’, and Adrian looks back on his time with Rik – who died in June 2014, aged 56 – with fondness.
He said: "They were some of the most carefree stupid days I ever had, and I feel privileged to have shared them with him. And now he’s died for real. Without me. Selfish bastard."
