Dancing on Ice to return for new series

‘Dancing on Ice’ will return for another series next year.
Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield – who present the reboot – have confirmed that the skating show, which was brought back to screens three weeks ago following three years off air, will be back in 2019 as a new batch of celebrities will take on the rink.
Speaking on ‘This Morning’, Phillip said: "We can exclusively reveal that our other show, ‘Dancing On Ice’ has been re-booked, recommissioned for another series."
The 55-year-old silver fox then called for all celebrities who keen to hit the ice and pick up a new skill to get in touch with the production team about next year’s line up.
He explained: "We will be back next year.
"So if you’re a celeb and you’d like to have a go at that, get in touch!"
But Phillip – who is known for his sexual innuendos – couldn’t help but make a playful comment as he posed the question: "Do you want to come and play at our rink?"
It’s not yet known whether the judging panel – comprised of Ashley Banjo, Jason Gardiner, Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean – will stay the same after it was given a huge shake up this time around so that the Olympic skating duo could give feedback and get rid of the weaker skaters following years of coaching the competitors.
And that wasn’t the only change the show – which originally ran from 2006 until 2014 – experienced this year as the professionals have been forced to come up with their own choreography rather than being given a new routine every week to teach and perfect.
The location of the show has also moved as it is now based at Bovingdon Airfield in Hemel Hempstead – although there are rumours that the studio is haunted.
A source said recently: "It’s likely many of the contestants and professional skaters have no idea they are performing somewhere that’s rumoured to be haunted.
"If the claims are to believed there’s a good chance something could happen during rehearsals or even while the show is on air."
