Shona McGarty is engaged

Shona McGarty has got engaged.
The ‘EastEnders’ star has announced that she and her beau Ryan Harris, whom she’s been dating for five years, are set to tie the knot later this year in the UK after the hunk got down on one knee at a surprise party he threw for her birthday last year.
Speaking to OK! magazine, she said of their engagement: "Ryan asked me to cut the birthday cake and I was like: ‘Why? We’re not getting married!’ But I did it and there was a box on the top of the cake and Ryan asked me to open the box. When I opened it there was a ring inside and I turned around and Ryan was on one knee…
"The engagement was a complete surprise, but we had spoken about marriage, just to check that we both wanted the same things."
And, although they’ve only just got engaged, the couple aren’t wasting any time becoming husband and wife as they’re planning to get hitched at the end of 2018.
The 26-year-old actress explained: "We’re getting married towards the end of the year in the UK. It’s been a bit stressful as there are so many decisions to make! We’d like an Irish-themed wedding as my family is from Southern Ireland."
Ryan already has two children Scarlett, 10, and Alfie, six, from a previous relationship and, although she’s not ready just yet, Shona would like to have kids of her own.
She said: "To be honest, I never thought I’d go out with someone who already has children, but it couldn’t have worked out any better. It’s so lovely and I couldn’t imagine my life without them now. We all have a great relationship…
"I would like a football team, though! I come from a big Irish family so I want loads of children – we’d definitely like to have a large family."
Red the full story in this week’s OK! magazine, out today (22.01.18).
