Rachel Adedeji suffered with baby blues

Rachel Adedeji suffered from the "baby blues" following the birth of her daughter.
The ‘Hollyoaks’ star welcomed her little girl Lillian – whom she has with her husband Jason Finegan – into the world just four days before Christmas and, although she was totally besotted with her little bundle of joy, she wasn’t prepared for how low she felt.
Speaking to OK! magazine, she said: "In terms of the aftermath, they say it’s the best thing ever, which it is, but then you start to worry about everything. No one told me about the baby blues. No one told me about how hard breastfeeding actually is. The struggle is so real and I think people try to paint it as perfect; I’d rather people just be
honest about it … For me, it was just crying all the time at first, but it’s gone now. You’ve made this amazing human and you want the best for them, so you will cry and you might feel a bit sad but it’s okay, because it will eventually go. I think if you don’t talk about it, that’s what could lead to postnatal depression."
However, the 26-year-old actress did have a traumatic pregnancy as she suffered from pre-eclampsia, which meant her blood pressure was quite high, and then her labour didn’t go according to plan and the doctors have to use a suction cup.
She explained: "The pain completely goes from zero to a hundred in about a minute,’ she told us. Because her heart rate kept dropping as my blood pressure kept increasing, they said they needed to get her out as soon as possible.
"The hospital were so phenomenal. They were so calm. Because of the diamorphine, I was so tired and I wasn’t pushing hard enough. So they had to give me an episiotomy and use a ventouse suction cup."
