Ewan McGregor files for divorce

Ewan McGregor has filed for divorce.
The 46-year-old actor split from his wife of 22 years, Eve Mavrakis, last year and in his court documents he cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the breakdown of the marriage, TMZ reports.
Ewan has asked for joint custody of their children, Clara, 21, Jamyan, 16, Esther, 15 and Anouk, six but in Eve’s response to his petition, she has asked for sole custody with visitation for Ewan.
The pair announced their split in October last year but court documents show the date of their separation as May 28th 2017.
Meanwhile, Eve, 51, recently admitted she was not impressed with her estranged husband’s Golden Globes speech, where he thanked both her and his current girlfriend.
Ewan started dating his ‘Fargo’ co-star Mary Elizabeth Winstead last year and Eve was unhappy after Ewan mentioned both women when he won the award for Best Actor in a Limited Series.
He said: "I want to take a moment to say thank you to Eve. Who always stood by me for 22 years. To my four children, Clara, Ester, Jamyan and Anouk, I love you.
"There would be no Ray without Mary Elizabeth Winstead. So thank you very much."
However, the speech left Eve upset and she told the Daily Mail: "No, I did not like his speech." When asked, why not, she added: "For the same reasons you are here asking me about it. I am not going to say any more."
A source told the paper: "Ewan and Eve were a very affectionate and loving couple, but it all changed over the summer. It was very abrupt.
"He came back from ‘Fargo’ and it was clear he and Mary had become close. He insisted that nothing physical happened between them and Eve accepted that.
"They tried to make their marriage work after he told her, but about a month later it was clear Ewan had made his decision."
Eve and Ewan tied the knot in 1995 and he has previously gushed about his wife in interviews.
He has said: "I knew right then that I really wanted to be with her and I knew I wanted to be with her in a different way to all the other many, many, many women I had been with up until that point. And I wasn’t wrong. I made the right choice."
