Pharrell Williams and Fergie to perform at 2018 NBA All-Star Game

Pharrell Williams and Fergie are set perform at the 2018 NBA All-Star Game.
The National Basketball Association have announced that the ‘Happy’ hitmaker and his band N.E.R.D will headline the sporting extravaganza’s half-time show on February 18 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, while the 42-year-old pop queen will take to the stage to sing the American national anthem prior to tip-off.
The game will see a mix of the best league stars from the Eastern Conference and Western Conference form two teams – comprised of 12 players each side – and go head-to-head.
The winning team will have money donated to their previously-chosen charity.
The match will air from the Staples Center and will be seen in more than 200 countries.
The big gig couldn’t have come at a better time for Pharrell, 44, and his band as they’ve just released their fifth studio album ‘No One Ever Really Dies’ but it’s believed they will perform a medley of chart-topping hits when they take to the stage for the headline slot.
Fergie, on the other hand, dropped her second full-length album ‘Double Dutchess’ in September last year but it was a somewhat stressful time for her as 2017 saw her split from her Josh Duhamel, whom she has four-year-old son Axl Jack, after eight years of marriage.
The 42-year-old singer said recently: "There are some very extreme differences on the album. Silly songs that are just ridiculous… to completely serious soul-baring lyrics and feelings that I’ve had and just written in my journals, and was able to express as therapy, basically, with the music — I don’t know how to do it any other way."
The split meant Fergie had to push back the release date of her album, which marked her return as a solo artist, because she was trying to deal with her emotions, but it was made harder by the fact she couldn’t tell anyone what was happening.
