Matt Evers shocked by Candice Brown kiss

Matt Evers had "no idea" Candice Brown was going to kiss him at the end of their ‘Dancing On Ice’ performance.
The ice skating professional was shocked when the ‘Great British Bake Off’ winner seemed to plant a kiss on his lips at the end of their routine on Sunday (07.01.18) but says it was just a reaction to what she says was the "most emotional thing" that has happened to her.
Matt said: "I had no idea she was going to do that. I didn’t know how she was going to react in front of a live studio audience. So when she nailed the performance and she stayed in character, I looked at her and squeezed her hand and she looked at me and her eyes welled up.
"Of course she wanted to hug me and give me a kiss – it just happened. She told Jayne [Torvill] that moment for her was bigger than winning the ‘Bake Off’. Candice told her it was the most emotional thing she had ever experienced in all her life."
Unfortunately for Candice, she ended up being the lowest scoring celebrity – when both the judges’ scores and the public vote was combined – and she will now face the skate off during next weekend’s show.
Matt added to The Sun newspaper: "I was nervous to see how Candice was going to react after being in the bottom two. But she sat me down and said, ‘I watched our performance back and I cried because I nailed it. I did exactly what everyone asked.’ At the end of the day she couldn’t be more proud of herself and she hasn’t let it knock her down.
"She is going to come back fighting. The lift she did on Sunday was very difficult. Some of the pros don’t actually do it. Candice is the only contestant on the show who hasn’t done anything in front of an audience. She is doing amazingly well – I have to mould her from nothing."
