Caitriona Balfe is engaged

Caitriona Balfe has got engaged.
The 38-year-old actress revealed at the Golden Globe awards – at which she was nominated for Best Actress in a TV Series, Drama for her role in ‘Outlander’ – on Sunday (07.01.18) her partner Tony McGill had popped the question late last year and she’s thrilled to be planning her wedding.
She told People: "It happened over the break. I’m very happy."
Caitriona and Tony have been dating for almost two years, but they largely keep their relationship out of the spotlight and are rarely pictured together.
They were first seen together in 2015 when a friend shared an Instagram video of the actress sitting on her partner’s lap.
Caitroina’s confirmation of her happy news came after Australian journalist Melissa Hoyer recently shared a picture of herself and the Irish actress, in which she described the brunette beauty as "gorgeous and newly engaged", but she later deleted the Instagram post, sparking a number of questions from fans.
Like most stars at the glamorous ceremony, Caitriona wore black to join the Time’s Up campaign against harassment and ahead of the event had urged her Twitter followers to also lend their support to the initiative.
She posted last week: "Say #TIMESUP on abuse, misuse of power, marginalization, harassment, and not seeing ourselves represented… I stand with ALL women and demand for a more equal world.
"Sign the #TIMESUP solidarity letter and donate to the Legal Defense Fund at timesupnow.com (sic)"
The actress missed out on winning a Golden Globe to Elisabeth Moss, who took the prize for her role in ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’.
