Amir Khan leaves I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!

Amir Khan has been booted from ‘I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here!’.
The 31-year-old boxer has narrowly missed out on a spot in this weekend’s final of the ITV reality show, as the voting public failed to keep him in the competition after Friday’s (08.12.17) live eviction.
Amir – who had never even watched the programme before he headed off into the Australian jungle – had a "great time" whilst on the show, and insists he even managed to conquer some of his fears.
Speaking to show hosts Ant and Dec after his elimination, he said: "I had such a great time. I never expected to be this good. I’ve never seen the show, so it was a massive surprise for me when I got in there and I was like ‘Oh my God’ but you know what? My fears went. Some of them went."
But the star admits the experience wasn’t remotely what he was expecting, and says he found the show "harder" than he thought it would be.
When asked if it was what he expected, Amir said: "No, it wasn’t. It was a lot harder. When I come face to face with animals I thought, ‘This wasn’t in the contract’! But you know what honestly, it’s a lot harder living on rice and beans for a couple of days because some days we didn’t get meals. Sleeping outside, I had that fear in me where I never wanted to be anywhere near trees because I didn’t know what might come next to me. But now, I’ll walk around trees, I’ll climb trees if I want. That fear is totally gone."
On Thursday (07.12.17), Amir celebrated his 31st birthday inside the jungle with his camp mates, and admits that experience alone will be something he will always remember.
Speaking about his special day – which saw him gifted with a heartfelt card from his fellow camp mates, as well as a birthday cake – he said: "It was wonderful to spend it with a brilliant team in there. In a jungle, that’s something I’m always going to remember. All my life, I’m gonna say to my kids that daddy had his birthday in the jungle. How many people can say that?"
And now that he’s out of the running to be crowned King of the Jungle, Amir would like to see ‘Hollyoaks’ star Jamie Lomas take home the crown.
He said: "I’d like Jamie to win it, because he just likes to push himself. He’ll put his hand up for any trial or any challenge, he never gives up and he’s not really scared of anything. So I think someone like him."
