Jessica Alba’s words of wisdom

Jessica Alba has advised her children not to be afraid of winning.
The 36-year-old actress has told her children Honor, nine, and Haven six – who she has with her husband Cash Warren – to strive to be the best and not to "hold [themselves] back" in fear they will upset anyone else.
Speaking in the January 2018 issue of Good Housekeeping magazine, The Honest Company co-founder said: "Recently, I told my oldest, who doesn’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings, ‘It’s OK to win a race; it doesn’t mean you’re bragging. Don’t hold yourself back.’ "
The ‘Fantastic Four’ star practices what she preaches, as she believes "nothing" in life comes "easy" and regardless of how many times she fails at something she believes she is still learning from the experience, but ultimately she is determined to overcome any hurdles.
She explained: "I’m competitive. Nothing is easy. If it’s easy, you should worry. You have to fail a few times to find out what the best path forward is. It’s part of learning."
And the ‘Honey’ beauty hopes her own traits will "rub off" on her brood.
She added: "When people tell me something can’t be done, I see a challenge. Just because it hasn’t been done doesn’t mean it can’t be. I just have to figure it out. It’s good for my girls to see that I have an opinion … hopefully some of what I’m doing will rub off on them. It’s hard, because they’re growing up with more privilege than I had."
Jessica – who is pregnant with her third child with her spouse – has revealed when she was expecting her first baby she "feared" she would "lose [her] sense of self", but has found motherhood has had the opposite effect.
She said: "I feared I would lose my sense of self in becoming a mom, but it’s actually made me more true to who I am."
