Louis Tomlinson feeling the pressure

Louis Tomlinson is under more pressure as a solo musician after travelling the world with One Direction.
The ‘Miss You’ singer became a global star during his time with the ‘Best Song Ever’ boy band, and while he is enjoying the creative freedom of going at it on his own while the group are on hiatus, there are still some things made more difficult due to the reputation the members have built up.
Speaking to BBC Radio 2, he said: "I think its more pressure, we set a bar with 1D and theres a certain expectation but I think that’s what drives all of us and it helps having that pressure there."
As well as the pressure, Louis admitted there are a lot of differences going solo compared to life in the band, adding that it has its advantages and disadvantages.
He explained: "Of course, it’s different on your own, there’s certain moments where it does help to share the load, like with interviews, even if it’s excitement, you definitely notice in those moments and on the road I’m sure it helps.
"From a writing perspective it’s easier to go ‘right this is who I am’ as opposed to ‘this is who we are’ and fit four or five different references and tastes."
Meanwhile, Louis – whose debut solo album is set to be released in 2018 – admitted all his focus has gone into his music, with even his love for football taking a back seat.
He added: "I’ve written a lot of songs and I need to give 110 per cent to who I want to be as an artist and get that right before I venture into anything else…
"I’m happy with the sound of the record and the production, it’s exciting for me to have more guitar and live elements. Conceptually it’s about being in that routine, going over the same day over and over again, some days its fun and some days it’s not so fun."
