U2 announce one-off live Amazon Music experience

U2 have announced a new live 24-hour programme with Amazon Music.
The Irish rock legends – Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen Jr. – will give fans the chance to look back at their history as one of the world’s biggest bands in the one-off show titled ‘The U2 Experience’, which airs tonight (29.11.17), and will feature exclusive interviews, behind the scenes commentary and live performances from the ‘With or Without’ you hitmakers.
Guitarist The Edge says he think the most "unique" aspect of ‘Songs of Experience’ – their 67th studio album – and the band in general, is that not many groups have made so much music with the original line-up intact.
Speaking about the record, he said: "I hope you don’t need to know anything about U2, or anything about the context, to enjoy [Songs of Experience].
"I think it’s an album of just classic songs, great melodies, great hooks, great lyrics.
"I think there’s very few bands in the history of rock and roll that have been around and made as many albums as we have with the same line-up … that perspective is unique, you know? On the last record [‘Songs of Innocence’] we wrote about where we came from.
"How this band came together, Dublin of the late 70s early 80s, and this new record is the companion album.
"But it’s from this current perspective now … So many years later, what have we learned?"
‘The U2 Experience’ will be available via Amazon Music for UK fans and listeners at 11pm today, to anyone who has an Amazon account at www.amazon.co.uk/theu2experience. Immediately following the 24-hour show, the U2’s new album, ‘Songs of Experience’, will be available to purchase on Amazon Music and stream for Amazon Music Unlimited subscribers.

Start Times for ‘The U2 Experience’:

UK: Wednesday, 29 November 23:00
US: Wednesday, 29 November 18:00 EST / 15:00 PST
Germany/Austria: Thursday, 30 November, 12:00am
