Aston Merrygold wants Alexandra Burke to win Strictly Come Dancing

Aston Merrygold wants Alexandra Burke to win ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The former JLS singer was booted out of the competition earlier this month after he lost the dance-off against Mollie King and, although he’s developed a bond with all of the contestants, he’d love the ‘X Factor’ winner to walk away with the glitterball trophy.
Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz, he said: "For me I would always go down to, like I’ve known her for years, I think she’s an incredible artist anyway, Alexandra is, unbelievable at what she does, and the fact that she’s taken to this like a fish in water. Is brilliant so, so yeah I’m hoping she goes all the way. You get a good score one week, you get a bad score the next week and whatever else. It’s a bit like depending what dance is thrown at you, you see what fits and she’s been able to mold into all of them so far, yeah I think honestly she’s just been great to watch dance so, so like I said."
And, although he’s no longer on the show, he’s still dancing regularly.
He said: "Oh yeah course, it’s on the daily agenda, it’s part of my job anyway. So obviously that style of dancing was quite hard to learn and take on board, honestly I had such a great time, and listen it was like half way through the competition don’t get me wrong, for me I just wanted to get through week by week.
"Everyone else was a bit like, you know you should have been in the final, whatever, well listen that’s the aim of the game, you know I’ve been in the industry for what 15 plus years and I get that that’s what, you know it happens, things like that happen and you just have to really take on the chin and just get on with it."
Aston is asking everyone to donate an extra gift for Cash for Kids Mission Christmas http://www.cashforkids.uk.com/mission.
Aston will be touring the UK throughout April 2018.
