Mollie King admits Strictly setbacks damaged her confidence

Mollie King’s confidence took a knock after she found herself in the bottom two on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The former Saturdays star is currently appearing on the BBC dance show, and Mollie – who managed to avoid the dreaded dance-off over the weekend – had confessed her earlier setbacks caused her to doubt herself.
The blonde beauty told the ‘Strictly’ spin-off show ‘It Takes Two’: "I think having that week avoiding the bottom two really helps pick you up. Being in the bottom two does knock your confidence.
"Being in Blackpool, I never imagined we’d get that far, so I thought it was amazing. To see how far we’d come from that first Jive is incredible, you just have to take it in."
The most-recent dance-off was contested by Debbie McGee and Jonnie Peacock, with Jonnie ultimately being eliminated from the show.
And after rediscovering her self-belief at the weekend, Mollie is excited by the prospect of performing the Quickstep with her partner AJ Pritchard.
Looking forward to the challenge, Mollie said: "It’s the quickest I’ve ever moved and if I don’t move, I get walked on."
The singer also admitted she’s already found it to be a tough dance to come to terms with.
Asked whether her feet were taking a beating, the 30-year-old star shared: "There’s been a few crushes in there. My trainers that were once white are no more."
Despite this, AJ is exited about their dance at the weekend and he feels the Quickstep is perfectly suited to Mollie’s positive outlook.
He explained: "People at home can feel your excitement. You can smile, Mollie loves to smile."
