Peter Kay confirms Car Share will return

Peter Kay has confirmed ‘Car Share’ will return.
Fans were devastated when the hit comedy series – which also stars Sian Gibson – came to an end on a cliffhanger but Peter has now revealed it would get at least another episode.
He said: "Well it’s been a very hard secret to keep … We were getting constant abuse about it, people were very angry that the series ended in that way, but there is a season finale explaining what happened the next day after the big argument."
Whilst Sian added: "I’m glad it’s out in the open."
And in a move which will thrill fans even more, Peter and Sian announced they would also be doing a special episode away from the story that is completely improvised.
Speaking during an appearance on BBC’s Children In Need on Friday (17.11.17), Peter said: "It’s half an hour of us basically making the script up and improvising. It’s just us having a laugh but they are coming on screen next year, so that’s a bit of a surprise for everybody."
Fans were left disappointed earlier this year when the show ended on a cliffhanger when Kayleigh finally confessed her love to John but he let her slip away.
Back in August, Peter was adamant he would never bring back ‘Car Share’.
He said at the time: "It is lovely but I don’t know what to say. It is very flattering but I think if you have told a story you have told it, there is nothing else you can do.
"What people want and keeping that standard up is difficult so you don’t want people to say oh that went off. It is lovely that they would want it in theory, but you don’t want it to become contrived so you are better off just leaving things sometimes."
