Blake Shelton is "in love" with Gwen Stefani’s children.
The 41-year-old musician has been in a relationship with the ‘Hollaback Girl’ singer since 2015, and has said that whilst getting to know her three sons – Kingston, 11, Zuma, nine, and Apollo, three – was "awkward" at first, he now admits he’s loving being involved in their lives.
Speaking to People magazine – who named him the Sexiest Man Alive for 2017 – ‘The Voice’ judge said: "For a long time, it was awkward trying to figure out what my place is and in their mind too. The best part for me, selfishly, is discovering a part of myself that I guess I never really knew was in there. It’s definitely an instinct that kind of kicks in.
"There’s days where you go, ‘Oh my God, when does school start?’ An hour later you’re going, ‘God, I can’t wait ’til they get home.’ They’re so damn funny. It’s just my first time being around it, and it’s easy to fall in love with those kids. They’re pretty special."
Meanwhile, Gwen – who has her sons with her ex-husband Gavin Rossdale – says the sexiest thing about her beau is his "gigantic" heart.
She said: "It’s interesting because I don’t think any of those things like beauty or sexy or whatever way you want to describe humans is necessarily a physical thing that people are attracted to. It’s all about the heart, and he has that big ol’ gigantic heart in there, so he’s quite an attractive human. I’m not the only one that thinks it!"
And the 48-year-old singer thinks Blake is "perfect" for the Sexiest Man Alive accolade, and says his sense of humour is the "number one thing" she likes about him.
She added: "He’s perfect for it. Somebody that is funny and has a sense of humour is sexy – that’s the number one thing. [He’s] somebody that is at the top of their game and talented and genuine and cool and generous and just not self-aware at all – completely a man. He doesn’t even know how cute he is. [He]’s cocky but only because he’s a cowboy!"
