Prince Albert of Monaco wants to travel with twins

Prince Albert of Monaco wants to take his twins on a "halfway-around-the-world" trip.
The 59-year-old royal has two-year-old twins Princess Gabriella and Prince Jacques with his wife Princess Charlene, and whilst they might still be young, the royal can’t wait to take them with him when he and his wife embark on a lengthy trip around the world next year.
He said: "We did a cruise with them this summer and that was fine. Next summer, we’re going to take them on a long trip to Polynesia. We’ll have to break up so it’s not so long for them."
However, the pair – who turn three in December – won’t be taking part in any official royal duties any time soon, as he recalls he wasn’t involved in a formal state visit until he was six years old.
According to People magazine, Prince Albert thinks the pair could say "hello" to a few dignitaries, but their inclusion on the visit will be on the "private side".
He added that when he was their age he accompanied his parents Princess Grace and Prince Rainier "on the private side of an official visit to Ireland", and took part in his first formal engagement three years later in Portugal.
He said: "We went to Portugal. I remember going to Fatima, seeing the pilgrims. Including Jacques and Gabriella as part of any official state visit might have to wait a few years."
Prince Albert also insists that despite their close ages, any potential play dates with four-year-old Prince George and two-year-old Princess Charlotte – the children of Britain’s Prince William and Duchess Catherine, who are expecting their third child together – will also have to wait.
He told People magazine: "Are you asking me about a royal play date with Will and Kate’s kids? Maybe, but a state visit with the twins to any country – not just the UK – is a few years off."
