Antony Cotton for Dancing On Ice

Antony Cotton has been confirmed for ‘Dancing On Ice’.
The ‘Coronation Street’ star – who plays fan favourite Sean Tully on the ITV soap – will swap the cobbles for the ice skating competition as it makes its triumphant return to television screens early next year.
Appearing in a special message during the ‘Coronation Street’ credits on ITV on Monday night (06.11.17), he said: "I’m Antony Cotton from ‘Coronation Street’ and I’ve got some really cool news. ‘Dancing On Ice’ is back and guess what – I’m a contestant. So I better get my skates on – I’ve got practising to do!"
After the big reveal, Antony took to Twitter to share the clip, adding: "So there you go. Finally I can talk about bruises, blisters and bloody boots.. (sic)"
Antony’s involvement in the show has been expected for a long time after he was spotted rehearsing for the programme weeks ago.
Many more celebrities have also been confirmed for the programme including, most recently, track and field athlete Perri Shakes-Drayton as well as cricketer Monty Panesar, rugby hunk Max Evans, Jake Quickenden, Love Island’s Kem Cetinay, Great British Bake Off’s Candice Brown and Bucks Fizz’s Cheryl Baker.
Antony’s co-star Brooke Vincent was the the first celebrity to be announced to be taking to the ice.
Brooke – who plays Sophie Webster on the ITV soap – said previously: "I love a challenge and ice skating, what an amazing skill. I’m more impressed with the fact I can go with the girls and be like, ‘I can do this, I can do that’, and they’ll be holding onto the sides.
"It’s exciting because I’ve watched it for years and always thought it would be so good one day to do that and dress in those outfits and learn such a massive skill from two of the best, I’m just really excited."
Jayne Torvill, Christopher Dean, Ashley Banjo and Jason Gardiner are set to judge whilst Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby will host.
