Debbie McGee wows in Strictly spook-tacular

Debbie McGee topped the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ leaderboard with a chilling Charleston during the show’s Halloween week.
The 58-year-old star and her dance partner Giovanni Pernice wowed the judges – Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood, Darcey Bussell and Bruno Tonioli – with their impressive dance to Sister Sledge’s ‘Frankie’, receiving perfect 10s from three of the judges and a fantastic nine from Craig.
Shirley loved the performance so much that she offered Debbie her Queen of Latin crown.
She told her: "I’m going to give you my Queen of Latin crown. I loved everything. You were brilliant."
And Aston Merrygold and Janette Manrara closed the show with a near-enough flawless Paso Doble to Nirvana’s Smells Like Teen Spirit, earning them an impressive 38.
Bruno told them: "That was a paso doble that brought the dead back to life! What is wonderful about it, you married tradition with innovation. I’m telling you, that was the perfect Halloween treat."
Alexandra Burke was back on top form with her terrifyingly good tango. Dressed as zombies, Alexandra and her partner Gorka Marquez danced to ‘Maneater’.
Craig praised them: "You came out with all guns blazing. It did not stop until the end. I really and truly loved it."
Whilst it was a great week from the likes of Joe McFadden, Gemma Atkinson and Mollie King, Susan Calman’s ‘Game of Thrones’-inspired Foxtrot to ‘Killer Queen’ failed to impress.
Darcey told her: "What happened was – your character was so strong. Just try and hold onto that and put more into your technical."
However, it was Simon Rimmer’s American smooth to ‘Delilah’, which landed them bottom of the leaderboard.
Craig said: "It was so stiff, posture suffered, your hands were splayed. I didn’t enjoy it at all."
‘Strictly Come Dancing’ continues on Sunday (29.10.17).
