Doc Martin writers secretly included rude patient names

‘Doc Martin’ writers have been subtly including rude patient names on the show.
The ITV drama series, which stars actor Martin Clunes in the title role, has seen a string of patients with rude names, including Paul Mycock, Anita Bush and Drew Peacock, featured in some of the scenes.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "The writers do not take things too seriously on ‘Doc Martin’.
"It’s all very tongue-in-cheek and gives both viewers and the actors a good giggle."
Actress Jessica Ransom, who plays medical receptionist Morwenna Newcross on the show, admitted the ‘Doc Martin’ cast love the tongue-in-cheek humour.
She shared: "We always put in funny patient names, we’ve had a lot of fun putting a few of those in. We had a nice old lady the other day who was Alice Cooper."
Meanwhile, Martin recently insisted he is nothing like his character in the popular series.
The 55-year-old star revealed that some people are kidded into thinking he’s posh, like his character, because of his accent and the roles he’s played during his career.
Asked whether he considers himself to be posh or bossy, Martin –
who first starred in ‘Doc Martin’ in 2004 – told the Radio Times: "Only people from up North think I’m posh because I’m from the South. And sometimes I play posh people. But I’m not posh at all. Nor am I bossy. I’m nothing like Doc Martin."
And queried on why the show has been so successful, Martin added: "We all like the idea of a bossy posh man fixing everything for us. We despise posh men and so if he bangs his head on the door, then we’re happy."
