Noel Gallagher thinks Liam needs therapy

Noel Gallagher thinks his brother Liam needs to "see a psychiatrist.
The 50-year-old rocker has blasted his younger sibling for a lack of "respect" after the ‘Wall of Glass’ hitmaker publicly hit out at Noel for not performing at Ariana Grande’s charity concert, which was staged a few weeks after a terrorist attack at her concert in their home city of Manchester.
Explaining how his decision to donate the profits from Oasis’ song ‘Don’t Look Back in Anger’ – which became an anthem of defiance for the area in the wake of the bombing – to the charity became public knowledge, Noel said: "[It was meant to be private] until Mr Angry bombarded the internet with his hate.
"So I’m getting calls saying, ‘Surely you want to do an interview?’ No. People died. This is not about me or some other idiot. A woman’s just woken up from a coma to find her daughter’s dead. Have some respect."
Noel – who insists he wasn’t asked to perform at the star-studded-concert – found himself under attack by Liam again when he headlined the reopening of Manchester Arena last month and appeared emotional while singing ‘Don’t Look Back in Anger’.
And the ‘Ballad of the Mighty I’ singer thinks Liam needs to seek help after accusing his brother of turning the occasion into a "PR stunt".
Noel fumed to the Sunday Times Culture magazine: "He needs to see a psychiatrist. I don’t say that as a joke. Because young Mancunians, young music fans, were slaughtered, and he, twice, takes it somewhere to be about him. He needs to see somebody."
But Noel refused to criticise Liam for his decision to play his own comeback single, ‘Wall of Glass’, at the Manchester tribute concert.
He simply said: "Well, my instinct, were I young, high and drunk, would be to go on a rant. But I’m dignified now."
The ‘Death of You and Me’ hitmaker can’t understand why his fractured relationship with Liam – who he has barely spoken to since their group Oasis split in 2009 – has influenced so many of his sibling’s songs, especially when he has other personal issues, such as the 2014 breakdown of his marriage to Nicole Appleton, to draw inspiration from.
He said: "You’d think he’d write songs about his divvy ex-wife, having just been divorced from her, know what I mean?"
