Lisa Snowdon enjoying her best years

Lisa Snowdon believes her forties are the "best years" of her life.
The 45-year-old model-and-presenter – who is engaged to George Smart – has learned to accept herself for who she is over the last few years and has stopped worrying about "silly things" and is enjoying having a lot of fun.
She said: "A recent survey said women over 40 are happier than 20 years ago.
"I have become so much happier since entering my forties. I have more confidence and much more fun.
"I look back and realise how I wasted my time worrying about silly things, like whether I fit into my jeans or what people thought about me.
"Instead of stressing about calories or my size now, I’ll just throw on a pair of jeans and have that cocktail.
"I believe your forties are the best years of your life. I’m loving it."
One of the reasons for Lisa’s boosted confidence is taking part in ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ in 2008, as the show gave her a "new lease of life".
She wrote in a guest column for Closer magazine: "It was one of the best things I’ve done – it transforms your body and your mentality.
"You never imagine you can dance like they do when you’ve watched the show – and the next thing you know, you’re up there, shaking and shimmying in fake tan, false eyelashes and without a care in the world.
"You come out of it with a new lease of life and a whole new level of confidence.
"Don’t get me wrong – ‘Strictly’ is hard on the body but it’s supposed to push you out of your comfort zone.
"There’s a risk of injury at any age, but your wonderful dance partner helps out with any issues you have.
"It’s amazing for fitness and I came away feeling strong and full of energy."
