Gemma Collins once paid for her own engagement ring.
The ‘Only Way Is Essex’ star has revealed she was on the cusp of marriage when she learned that her former lover had accessed her bank account to pay for the ring.
Gemma told The Sun newspaper: "He drew out quite a bit of money on my cards and said it was to put a deposit down an engagement ring for me.
"I mean hello – I was now paying for my own engagement ring."
Prior to that incident, Gemma thought she would eventually marry and have children with her then-boyfriend.
But she realised that her relationship didn’t match her expectations and the duo went their separate ways in 2014.
The 36-year-old TV star shared: "I was with the love of my life and I planned to marry him and have his baby but I soon realised I was wrong and all of a sudden my life came crashing down."
Previously, Gemma accused her ex-boyfriend of being physically abusive towards her prior to her stint on ‘I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!’ three years ago.
The reality TV star – who withdrew after just three days on the popular ITV show – said: "Once that happens to you it never leaves you. What happened that night was very, very traumatic for me.
"The jungle is starting again soon and I just dread it because everywhere I go people think I left the jungle because I was hungry when that wasn’t true."
