Stacey Solomon rescued her two sons from overturned car

Stacey Solomon had to drag her two sons out of an overturned car following an accident.
The former ‘X Factor’ star and now ‘Loose Women’ panellist explained on the show on Friday (18.08.17) how her natural instincts took over her when she had rescue her two sons – Zachary, nine, and Leighton, five – from danger.
Stacey said: "I had a car accident and the children were in it and the car was upside down and it was a horrific scene.
"Where I thought I would be completely anxious and panicking, my heart would be pounding, it’s almost like my body stopped.
"The kids were in the back and life stopped for a minute and I just thought, ‘I need to get us out of this situation’.
"I wasn’t in control. As much as I was in control I don’t believe I was in control at that point, something in my brain had taken over and said ‘this is what you need to do, this is where you need to go, being in a panic will do nothing’. And naturally my instinct took over."
Despite the crash being quite serious, Stacey’s youngest son remained asleep until she pulled him from the car.
By contrast, her other son was left shaken by the dramatic incident.
The 27-year-old star said: "Funnily enough, my youngest was asleep and remained asleep until I dragged him out of the car, but my eldest was crying and saying ‘help me, mummy’.
"It was awful, it was horrendous. I don’t even like recounting it sometimes as it makes me feel so emotional. It was a freak accident, nothing that I could have changed."
It was only after getting her two sons to safety that Stacey let her emotions kick in.
She said: "As soon as I got out the car my heart sank, I couldn’t feel my arms and my legs. I was crying."
