Joanna Lumley’s Don’t Tell the Bride obsession

Joanna Lumley "adores" ‘Don’t Tell the Bride’.
The ‘Absolutely Fabulous’ actress loves tuning in to the wedding show, which sees grooms plan every aspect of their nuptials in just two weeks and an evening in front of the programme is "paradise" for her.
She told heat magazine: "[My guilty pleasure is] ‘Don’t Tell the Bride’. I adore it.
"I think the boys must be egged on because they think of the most ghastly places for their women, who they know will hate it.
"And the girls all demand things – ‘I will not marry him if he doesn’t get me a dress like this’.
"And then you cut to him, looking at his budget, and he’d much rather spend that on beer for his mates than on the dress.
"And the bridesmaids’ dresses! IT’s paradise."
The 71-year-old actress can next be seen fronting ‘Joanna Lumley’s India’, a docuseries about the country where she was born and she adored working on the programme.
She said: "I could not love the country more.
"ITV came up with the idea, because it’s the 70th year of Indian independence and I think they wanted to do something to celebrate that.
"So we thought we’d look at India now – the India of today – and I think that’s what we’ve achieved."
Asked her highlights, she added: "Meeting the Dalai Lama was divine and going to Ranthambore, where the tigers are – seeing a tiger in the wild was very, very exciting."
