Roman Kemp’s family ‘knew’ he’d be a success

Roman Kemp’s family "always knew" he’d have his own radio show.
The 24-year-old presenter now hosts Capital FM London’s breakfast show alongside Vick Hope after he took on the role at the beginning of last month but his uncle Gary Kemp has admitted getting a gig on the airwaves was a no-brainer because he’s always been obsessed with mixing music and blasting out tunes to the family.
Speaking to BANG Showbiz, the 57-year-old rocker – who has 26-year-old son Finlay in a band – said: "Roman always had the gift of the gab when he was a kid, we always knew he was going to be something like that, I remember going round to my brother’s house and he has these decs and he used to DJ for all of us when he was like six!"
Although Roman – whose father is Martin Kemp – has carved out a highly successful career in the showbiz industry, Gary is proud of him for doing it all on his own.
He explained: "Hands in the air, Roman was bound to do something!
"Both of our sons are in the music business, my son’s in a band and they do it without our help, their personalities in themselves, they grew up in the business with enough people around them to inspire them."
