Nadia Sawalha is losing her teeth

Nadia Sawalha has lost teeth from grinding her jaw in her sleep.
The ‘Loose Women’ panellist is terrified she may lose her full set of gnashers when she’s a little older because she clenches her mouth when she’s snoozing at night and has already had a few pearly whites drop out as a result of her bedroom behaviour.
Speaking on ‘Loose Women’ on Thursday (15.06.17), she said: "I grind my teeth so badly, I grind them front and back and side to side.
"My jaw is always a little bit dislocated… I have to go to very extreme measures, I actually have Botox. I have Botox injected into my jaw, I’ve already lost one tooth from grinding and I could potentially lose all my teeth. I have Botox every six months but it does stop it. When I first had it done, it was like I was constantly smiling."
Although she’s exhausted every avenue trying to find a cure, the 52-year-old presenter thinks her toothy problem is a result of stress.
She explained: "It’s stress for me. The tooth gets lose in the gums and then you get little bits of food trapped down there and then it goes into the root canal. My dad has only got a couple of teeth left and his is from grinding so I’m looking at him thinking I don’t want to get that. Maybe it’s genetic. Maybe that’s the way we deal with stress."
And it’s not just her teeth she’s losing as Nadia’s hair is also dropping out.
Speaking in a video a few weeks ago, she said: "I think the thing that people ask me the most about is my hair, and how I have such gorgeous, glorious, wonderful, amazing, natural curls. And I’m going to be honest with you, they are fake. They are fake. I used to have the most amazing, I’ll say it myself, hair, it was my crowning glory, it was my most favourite thing about myself, and it was the one thing I didn’t have to worry about myself looks wise. I didn’t have to do anything to it.
"But when I started going into Perimenopause I think I have lost a third of my hair. You see hair this is where it’s balding, I’m, losing it all over.
"In fact I went to the top hair guy specialist, and he said to me that I actually do have the balding gene. That’s not funny. I didn’t know women could have the balding gene. He drew this picture of my hair follicles and he was saying the follicles have closed [in some areas] and they aren’t coming back. "
