Harry Judd: I learned about prostate cancer from The Real Full Monty

Harry Judd’s appearance on ‘The Real Full Monty’ taught him "so much" about prostate cancer.
The McFly musician is set to bear all in the ITV one-off special on Thursday (15.06.17) which will see him celebrate 20 years since the release of ‘The Full Monty’ – which follows the story of a group of men who start stripping in order to make a living – by learning the iconic dances from the movie.
But it’s not all fun and games, as the special also aims to raise awareness of supporting charities Movember, Cancer Research, Prostate Cancer UK and Everyman, and Harry admits the experience has "highlighted so much" about the potentially deadly disease.
He said: "I’ve learned so much about prostate cancer, I didn’t know much about it before doing this. It’s highlighted so much to me and I’m happy to be here to help. I always feel that when you’re doing something for a good cause."
And the ‘Love Is On The Radio’ hitmaker will be making sure his band mates – Tom Fletcher, Danny Jones, and Dougie Poynter – get themselves checked for prostate cancer, but admits he doesn’t want them to tune in to the show.
He added: "I don’t think there is any way of further putting yourself out there than doing this. I’ll be getting the McFly boys to check for prostate cancer, but I don’t want them to watch the show."
Harry, 31, will be joined by the likes of ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ star Elliott Wright, ‘Red Dwarf’ actor Danny John-Jules, journalist Dom Littlewood, and ‘Pointless’ host Alexander Armstrong on the show, which will see them perform at the film’s original venue, the Shiregreen Working Men’s Club in Sheffield, and also at the London Palladium.
Ballet dancer Wayne Sleep – who is an ambassador for Prostate Cancer UK – is also taking part in the show, and said taking his kit off in front of the group has "bonded" them together.
He told The Sun newspaper: "It’s not just a dance routine, it’s also about being naked. It’s quite a lot to deal with. We’ve all seen each other’s private parts and that’s what bonded us. That’s why we work so well together as a group."
‘The Real Full Monty’ airs on ITV at 8:30pm on Thursday (15.06.17).
